Please, God, rescue me!
Come quickly, Lord, and help me.
May those who try to kill me be humiliated and put to shame.
May those who take delight in my trouble be turned back in disgrace.
Let them be horrified by their shame,
for they said, "Aha! We've got him now!"
But may all who search for you
be filled with joy and gladness in you.
May those who love your salvation
repeatedly shout, "God is great!"
But as for me, I am poor and needy;
please hurry to my aid, O God.
You are my helper and my savior;
O Lord, do not delay.
A psalm of David
Notes: Although this psalm was born out of David's own experience of trouble it finds its ultimate fulfillment in the mouth of the messiah, the greater David - Jesus. He was surrounded by enemies who hated him without a cause as he pursued the Father's will on behalf of the people he had come to save. His cries for help were heard and God's rescued him, and with him, all who call on his name. Because his prayer was answered we have the hope of a bright tomorrow free from the many troubles of this life.

Thank you for the psalms, Professor Wellum. They are always inspirational, as are the pictures that accompany them. Those are some stunning shots! :)
Amen Pastor Kirk, Michele and I were discussing the promises of God in Christ from the Psalms just this morning (46:1, 5(a), LK 17:21) as HE is with us, even in our very midst regardless of our circumstances. What a blessing you've been again, confirming the Word, our Lord and God, Jesus Christ.

Thanx I took heart in this since sometimes people so bug me i wish they'd just take a hike and be delivered from me. I don't want to be vindictive but i do want to leave room for God's wrath when i feel hatred.
