Read Through The Bible This Year

At the beginning of a new year it is good to start reading through the Bible. There are a number of excellent Bible reading plans that you can find on the Internet. Just go to Google and search for "Bible reading plans one year" and you will be presented with a number of options. It is surprising how little time it takes each day to read through the Bible in a year. Approximately 3 chapters a day will get you through the whole Old and New Testaments. If you are interested in more information to get you started then check out these websites: ESV Bible Reading Plans or The Bible Gateway Bible Reading Plans.

Whether you want to read straight through, or read the Bible chronologically in the order in which the individuals books were written, or you would like to read from different parts of the Bible each day, there is a plan for you. The most important thing is that you read the Bible. This cannot be emphasized enough. There is so much said about the Bible and so much written on the Bible but so little reading of the Bible! If all preachers and teachers of the Bible, and all Christians in general would read the Bible through every year there is no way to calculate the good that would ensue for everyone involved.

"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account." Hebrews 4:12-13
