Ancient Book Discovered in Irish Bog

Here is an interesting bit of news. An ancient book of Psalms has been discovered, of all places, in an Irish bog! Apparently the book was found open at Psalm 83 written in Latin script. The book is 20 pages in length and has been dated around 800 to 1000 AD. Experts are currently trying to figure out the best way to read it without damaging the pages.

To me it is another example of the Lord's providential governing of the world and a reminder that he is calling all people everywhere to repent and call upon his name. The last verse of Psalm 83 reads: "Let them (the nations) know that you, whose name is the Lord - that you alone are the Most High over all the earth." It should be the prayer of all Christians that this would be the case before it is for ever too late! Biblical Christianity is not the figment of the overheated religious imagination but something rooted in history which will be shown to be true at the last day. Until then we have the glorious privilege of pointing people to Jesus Christ that one before whom every knee will bow and every tongue confess that he is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
